I’ve led teams of 25–100 and hired hundreds of people over my career. I drove the setup of the Manila operation and led the transition of operations and roles from Vancouver.

As COO and Chief Strategy Officer, I was responsible for business strategy, client relationships and service delivery, with responsibility across IT, finance, HR, recruitment, quality assurance and workforce management.

Data centre migration

Understand what moves, what stays and what could break.

As part of Toronto Hydro’s move to two new data centres, I analyzed an assigned portfolio of 200+ systems. I mapped what each system did, the business processes it supported, its dependencies and the impact of taking it offline.

That analysis informed what needed to migrate, what could be retired and the sequence of the move. Over roughly two years, I owned this work through cutover coordination, testing and sign-off.

Understand the problem.
Build what the business needs.

I start by understanding how the work gets done: who does it, what information they need and where things slow down or go wrong. That helps me decide whether the answer is AI, simpler automation or a change to the process.

From there, I work through how the solution will operate. That includes how the data is structured, how it flows between systems, who will use the solution and where someone needs to review a result or make a decision.

I build, test and refine against real examples. I look at the quality of the result, the failures and the effort it takes to use and maintain. A working demo is a starting point; the aim is something useful in day-to-day work.
